MY NAME IS PETE MALLORY and I used to play smart gun for a big-time operator named Macy Barr. But I quit. Now Macy’s empire was crumbling and he needed me. I wanted no part of Macy. He knew it, too. But he also knew the reason I wouldn’t say no. It was locked in his safe. I figured if I did this one last job for him we could make a deal. But the minute we got to his place I saw something I didn’t figure on. She was small and blonde and there was a light in her eyes that made my blood run hot and cold.
