Description

By: Sir James Knowles

I recently finished reading a fascinating book that delves deep into the tales of King Arthur and his legendary knights. Written by Sir James Knowles, this book provides a rich and detailed retelling of these timeless stories that have captured the imaginations of readers for centuries.

One of the things that struck me most about this book was the author’s ability to bring to life the characters of King Arthur and his knights. Each character is vividly portrayed, with their own distinct personalities and motivations. From the noble and brave King Arthur to the valiant Sir Lancelot, the characters in this book truly come alive on the page.

In addition to the compelling characters, I was also impressed by the way in which Knowles weaves together the various legends and adventures of King Arthur and his knights. The storytelling is masterful, with each chapter building upon the last to create a cohesive and engaging narrative. I found myself eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next, and I was constantly surprised by the twists and turns in the plot.

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys tales of chivalry, honor, and adventure. Sir James Knowles has crafted a timeless and captivating retelling of the legends of King Arthur and his knights that is sure to enchant readers of all ages.

Book Description:
MANUAL OF SURGERY, OXFORD MEDICAL PUBLICATIONS
BY ALEXIS THOMSON, F.R.C.S.Ed.
PREFACE TO SIXTH EDITION Much has happened since this Manual was last revised, and many surgical lessons have been learned in the hard school of war. Some may yet have to be unlearned, and others have but little bearing on the problems presented to the civilian surgeon. Save in its broadest principles, the surgery of warfare is a thing apart from the general surgery of civil life, and the exhaustive literature now available on every aspect of it makes it unnecessary that it should receive detailed consideration in a manual for students. In preparing this new edition, therefore, we have endeavoured to incorporate only such additions to our knowledge and resources as our experience leads us to believe will prove of permanent value in civil practice. For the rest, the text has been revised, condensed, and in places rearranged.
